Freight solutions engineered
for Australian conditions

From a single pallet on the Sydney–Melbourne corridor to a 53-metre road train crossing the Nullarbor, FreightLine manages the full spectrum of commercial freight requirements with precision and full regulatory compliance.

INTERSTATE ROAD FREIGHT

Full and part loads.
Every major corridor.

FreightLine operates dedicated Full Truck Load (FTL) and Less-than-Truck Load (LTL) services between all mainland capital cities. Our primary lanes — Sydney to Melbourne, Sydney to Brisbane, Melbourne to Adelaide, and the transcontinental Sydney to Perth run — are serviced by owned fleet on fixed departure schedules, eliminating the variability of broker-managed transport.

LTL freight is consolidated at our origin depot and travels on the same managed fleet as our FTL customers. No freight exchange, no unknown subcontractors. Your freight departs with a FreightLine driver, tracked on FreightLine telematics, and is delivered by a FreightLine operator at the other end.

B-double combinations service high-volume corridors for maximum payload efficiency. Semi-trailer configurations handle standard interstate linehaul. Heavy rigid vehicles manage regional connector services from each capital city depot to surrounding distribution zones.

All interstate consignments include real-time GPS tracking, milestone notifications (departure, state crossing, local delivery), and electronic proof of delivery (ePOD) within 30 minutes of completion. Transit time guarantees are included in every FTL quote.

METROPOLITAN LAST-MILE

Same day. Next day.
Signature confirmed.

FreightLine's metropolitan delivery service operates across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. Same-day delivery is available for bookings confirmed before 10:00am AEST at origin depot. Next-day service covers the full metro and inner-suburban delivery zones in all five cities.

Pickup windows — 7:00am to 10:00am, 10:00am to 1:00pm, and 1:00pm to 4:00pm — are selected at the time of booking and confirmed with your dispatch team. All metropolitan deliveries include electronic proof of delivery, with signature or authority-to-leave options specified per consignment.

Timed delivery windows (e.g., 9:00am–12:00pm for retail floor deliveries) are available in all metro zones at a scheduled rate premium. Multi-drop routes can be configured for B2B clients with regular delivery patterns across multiple sites in the same metro area.

REFRIGERATED TRANSPORT

Cold chain integrity,
documented end-to-end.

FreightLine's refrigerated fleet maintains continuous temperature control across four operating ranges: Ambient (+15°C to +25°C), Chilled (0°C to +8°C), Cold (−5°C to 0°C), and Frozen (−25°C to −18°C). Each trailer is equipped with dual independent temperature sensors logging at one-minute intervals, with automated alerts triggered if temperature deviates beyond the specified range.

For pharmaceutical and life-science clients, our cold chain protocol is aligned with GDP (Good Distribution Practice) guidelines referenced in TGA regulatory guidance. Pre-cool certificates, continuous temperature logs, and deviation reports are provided with every pharmaceutical delivery as standard documentation.

Fresh produce clients benefit from our overnight express refrigerated service on the Sydney–Melbourne–Brisbane corridor, with consistent 12–16 hour transit times and direct delivery to distribution centres or store receiving docks. Harvest Fresh Co-op, one of our longest-standing clients, runs a weekly 48-pallet program through this service with zero temperature excursions in 36 consecutive months.

HACCP-aligned pre-loading procedures, mandatory trailer inspection, and temperature verification before dispatch are documented in our refrigerated transport standard operating procedure, available to clients on request.

BULK & OVERSIZED CARGO

Abnormal loads.
Every state border.

FreightLine's project cargo and oversized freight division manages Class 1 (over-dimension) and Class 2 (over-mass) abnormal loads across all mainland states and the Northern Territory. Our permit team has established relationships with state road authorities in NSW, VIC, QLD, WA, SA, and NT, with permit processing times typically ranging from 3 to 10 business days depending on jurisdiction and route complexity.

Single and double pilot vehicle escorts are coordinated to match the requirements of each state authority. All pilot drivers hold current escort vehicle operator accreditation, and pilot vehicle specifications are verified against state requirements before departure.

Our equipment for oversized cargo includes low-loaders, flat-top semi-trailers, drop-deck configurations, and extendable trailers for out-of-gauge loads. For mining and resources clients in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, our road train-capable fleet handles machinery and equipment transport to remote mine sites with configurations approved for the Outback Highway and Great Northern Highway corridors.

CONTAINER DRAYAGE

Port-to-door.
Direct from the wharf.

FreightLine holds a wharf cartage contractor licence and operates port pickup services from Port Botany (Sydney), the Port of Melbourne, Port of Brisbane (Fisherman Islands), and Fremantle Container Terminal. Our drayage team coordinates directly with stevedores at each port to align pickup windows with vessel unload schedules, reducing container demurrage costs for importers.

We handle 20-foot, 40-foot, and 40-foot high-cube containers as standard. Dangerous goods containers (IMO-classified) can be assessed for compatibility — contact our operations team prior to booking. Empty container returns are coordinated with shipping line instructions and can be arranged to any approved empty park in the port precinct.

WAREHOUSING & CROSS-DOCKING

Storage. Consolidation.
Distribution.

FreightLine's warehousing and cross-dock operations are based at our Sydney (Silverwater) and Melbourne (Laverton North) depot facilities. Combined storage capacity exceeds 8,400 pallet positions across racked, bulk floor, and ambient zones.

Cross-docking is available for inbound consolidation and outbound break-bulk, enabling B2B clients to reduce inventory holding costs by flowing goods directly from inbound linehaul into outbound metro delivery runs. Turnaround time from inbound receipt to outbound dispatch is typically 2–4 hours under cross-dock arrangements.

Inventory management uses barcode scan-in and scan-out at every handling point, with client portal access to real-time stock positions. Pick-and-pack services are available for retail distribution clients, with carton labelling, order verification, and EDI dispatch notifications supported. Short-term storage (minimum 5 business days) and long-term storage (monthly pallet rate) are both available, with rates quoted per pallet position per week.

PRICING

Transparent, quote-based pricing

FreightLine does not publish rate cards, because freight pricing is determined by a combination of weight, cubic volume, pickup and delivery postcode, service level, and vehicle type. A rate card would be misleading — a single quoted rate applied across these variables would inevitably be wrong for most consignments.

Every quote is itemised. Fuel levies, tolls, handling fees, and any applicable surcharges (weekend, remote area, dangerous goods) are listed separately, never bundled into a "total freight charge." You see every component before accepting.

Quotes are valid for 14 days from issue date. For recurring freight contracts, we agree rate structures upfront with a minimum 3-month term, reviewed quarterly against fuel levy indices.
